League Statement - Dec 25
Dear Member Clubs,
Please accept the MKGL apologies for the recent delay and limited communication. During this period, the MKGL can announce that Robert Willford has decided to step down from his role as Chairman of the MKGL. Mr Willford had devoted significant time and energy to the running of the MKGL operations, but due to life and work commitments, decided to step down from his role. The MKGL would like to thank Robert for the dedication and passion in the creation and running of the league.
The existing committee has been working to establish a clear and sustainable plan as the MKGL try to progress towards the 2026 season, ensuring the continued development, participation, and growth of the MK & North Bucks Girls League.
MKGL Committee are delighted to announce that Craig Turnbull has taken on the role of the Chairman of the MKGL immediately, and on a temporary basis of League Secretary and Fixtures, starting in January 2026. Craig has come on board with a vast knowledge of Women’s & Girls Football and was part of the original Bucks Girls Football League that originally tried to get a Milton Keynes Girls League underway. Joining Craig, will be Matt Ruffles-McGhie as Vice Chairman of the MKGL immediately, and on a temporary basis of Registrations Secretary, starting in January 2026. Lastly, Robyn Hammond will stay on as MKGL League Welfare Officer immediately, and on a temporary basis of League Treasurer, starting in January 2026.

MKGL Committee will have their first meeting under the new tenure on the 9th January 2026, with a view of voting new the MKGL Committee at an SGM, planned for 30th January 2026. Further information regarding the Committee Meeting and SGM will be communicated in due course.
